If you need a primary care provider, I would like the
opportunity to share in your healthcare. I can provide care
if you have an acute illness or need a general physical or
women's health exam. I am available for diagnosis, management
and consultation for most health problems. For example, I can
diagnose and treat asthma, high cholesterol, blood pressure
and blood sugar, stomach and bowel concerns, urinary tract,
thyroid, and muscle and joint problems. I'm also available
for diet and weight loss counseling and can also prescribe
antidepressants if needed. Feel free to call if you want to
know if I accept your health insurance. If you would like I
can also provide you with a free ten minute phone consult in
order to see if I would be a good fit for your needs.
Join me in a conversation about your health. Let's discuss
your goals for improving or maintaining your current state of
health. I can explore with you your personal risks for health
issues as you age. I can also help you plan and implement
lifestyle changes that may create an environment for your
body to balance and heal itself over time. Once balance is
created in your body, it is often easier to avoid and
overcome health problems in the future.
I have been a nurse for 25 years. After doing critical care
nursing in hospitals for eight years I embarked on a journey
to serve people differently. In 1990 I finished two years of
advanced training and obtained a Master's Degree as an
Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) from the
University of Washington Graduate School of Nursing. In my
practice as a family nurse practitioner (FNP), I've worked in
various Seattle-area clinics providing healthcare for people
of all ages and now own my business. As an FNP, I can
diagnose and treat health problems as well as provide
education for most of your health concerns. I can also order
and interpret diagnostic tests, write prescriptions, and, if
medically needed or desired by you, I can consult or refer
you to a specialist or other healthcare practitioner.
In addition to my practice of conventional western medicine,
I have also pursued my personal interests in complementary
and alternative medicine. In 2005, I became trained in foot
reflexology. Foot reflexology is a practice that stimulates
"reflex areas" of the feet that are thought to correlate with
specific organs or areas of the body. By stimulating these
areas some people find their overall health improves.
Reflexology can also be useful in eliminating foot pain. In
general reflexology, relaxes, restores and rebalances the
body. Many people find it more relaxing than massage and
report that their physical symptoms often recede or disappear
altogether after few sessions. If you do have foot pain I may
be able to bill your insurance company for at least one
session.
With my western medicine background and openness to
alternative healthcare modalities, I can provide a bridge
among various healing paths. In addition, my general
philosophy of care supports people exploring and choosing the
path that works best for them.
I look forward to meeting you and hope that we can work
together building a relationship that improves your overall
health and sense of well being.
