George Whiteside, MS, L.Ac has been practicing in the healing
arts since 1992 and specializing in acupuncture for pain and
neuralgia since 1997. He has helped many patients return to
an active and energized life naturally. Acupuncture
encourages the resolution of pain, tension, numbness and
tingling. In the event that medication and/or surgery are
necessary, acupuncture is also an effective complementary
therapy.
While acupuncture is best known for treating pain, it has
been used traditionally to help with ailments of all kinds.
Acupuncture therapy is a unique form of medicine developed
primarily in China over the last five thousand years. It is
based on holism, focusing on the root cause of a condition,
not just the symptoms. It enhances the body’s own ability to
repair. George also includes herbal and dietary
recommendations with treatment.
George graduated from Bastyr University with a Master of
Science degree in Acupuncture in 1997 and a certificate in
Chinese Herbal Medicine in 1998. George joined the University
Health Clinic in January of 2003, where he practices with
physicians Patrick Donovan, RN, ND and Mona Fahoum, ND.
George is a firm believer that integrative medicine, where
practitioners from across disciplines work co-operatively, is
going to be the wave of the future. He currently serves as
the president of the Washington Acupuncture and Oriental
Medicine Association, a consumer and professional
advocacy organization that promotes the recognition of
acupuncture and oriental medicine as an effective
non-invasive health care option in WA state.
